The collections and services of Sibelius Academy library are open to all, though they are primarily intended for students, teachers and researchers at the Academy. Holders of a Sibelius Academy library card can also borrow material from the Central Library of Theatre Academy and Dance and the Library of University of Art and Design.
The loan period is 4 weeks (for the short loan collection 2 weeks). Students and personnel of the Sibelius Academy may take out max. 100 items at a time, the other people max. 25 items. A loan may be renewed 10 times (5 times for other than personnel or students of the Sibelius Academy) if there is no reservation for the item. Loans can also be renewed by phone (040 710 4224) or via internet (see Self-service renewal). There will be a fine of 0,05 euros / item / day (the short loan collection: 0,20 euros / item / day) for the overdue loans. Overdue material not returned after 40 days will result in a loan ban (5 euros + fines).
Material on loan can be reserved. The reservation fee (1 euro / reservation) is to be paid when making the reservation. It is also possible to make the reservation on internet via ARSCA database. Reserving on internet is free of charge. Reserved material must be retrieved in two weeks after it has been returned. Material on loan can not be reserved by phone or e-mail.
The library card is for personal use only and the bearer of the card is responsible for all items borrowed with his/her card and has to comply the library rules.
